Ingredients of the cleaning pie

CHAT is the easiest way to remember what is in the cleaning pie chart, Chemical, Heat, Agitation, Time. Knowing what is involved will help get the work accomplished properly.

They all have equal slices but when one slice is increased or decreased, the other slice(s) have to adjust accordingly.

I like higher quality chemicals as they perform better. Proper measuring of chemicals is crucial. If too much chemical is used the results will be bad. Maybe not instantly but they will rear their ugly head.

When heat is increased, less chemical, time and agitation is needed. When there is less heat the others need to be increased. Ultra Steam Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning loves to use heat.

Heat also helps textiles dry faster. Having heat speeds up drying and cleaning. The quality of chemicals that are used will make a significant difference in how well the cleaning will turn out.

Agitation the cleaning product will also speed up cleaning. Heavily soiled textiles will require more agitation than other textiles. This perhaps one of the most under used or dismissed slice by many cleaning technicians.

Finally the dwell time that is required for the chemical to activate and be effective for it’s intended purpose. With the advancements in today’s chemical performance, less an less dwell time is being required.
